Talented Visual Arts Program
Welcome back to schooL! The Fine Arts Department at Leo E Kerner Elementary is comprised of Talented Visual Art taught by Jeanne Vockroth, Music taught by Vivy Ramos, and Talented Theatre taught by Shanon Muhleisen. We are working together to create a calendar of events for your student and family this school year including: Art Around the World the parish Talented Visual Arts show at the Audubon Zoo on Saturday, November 11 and a number of other fundraisers, field trips, and concerts in the Winter and Spring. Please stay tuned for the finalized list of dates and events for each nine weeks in our Quarterly Newsletter that will be sent home in the gold folder beginning in September.
My name is Jeanne Vockroth (Miss Jeanne to our students!) and this is my second year at the Art teacher at Leo Kerner! My curriculum for Talented Visual Art includes a variety of projects and materials using the Elements of Art to build the skills for young artists to excel creatively. As a Talent program, my students must pass a district wide test to be admitted to the program. If your child is interested in trying out for art this year, please read and complete this Art.Screening.Packet.doc and return it to me at school. For more information please contact me at school or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parents of students currently in Talented Visual Art, please complete this form, 17.18 Parent Info and have your student return it to me at school. Thank you!
Last January, TVA students designed and constructed their own musical instruments using recycled materials! Here are some great examples of this project:
