Each family must complete a new free lunch form each year and return to the office. Each family received a form in the mail. If you do not have one please pick one up in the office. Students will be allowed to eat on last year’s lunch status until mid September. Call the office for more information.
Breakfast is free for every student and will be served in the classroom each morning. Students must be in class by 8:10 to receive breakfast!
Students who pay for lunch must keep track of their accounts. Do not send loose bills or coins to school for lunch. Place money in an envelope with the child’s name and state what they money is for. If they do not have money in their account for lunch they will be offered a meat sandwich and juice–this is a parish policy. Students are not allowed to charge for lunch, and existing balances must be paid in full. Students who owe money to the cafeteria will not be allowed to attend field trips.
There is no fast food, soda, or snack foods allowed in the cafeteria.
Mealpay Plus is an innovative service that allows parents to pre-pay for their child’s school meals, check student purchases, and monitor account balances.
With the implementation of Mealpay Plus, schools will no longer provide any meals to students who do not have an appropriate account balance or correct amount of cash to cover the cost of the meal.
However, in the case of an emergency, the system will employ a new method to deposit funds immediately via check, credit card, or debit card transaction over the telephone to restore the account balance.
For a small program fee, parents can make a prepayment into the student’s meal account. Funds deposited through Mealpay Plus are usually available for student use within a matter of minutes. This feature eliminates the need to send a check to school or worry about lost or forgotten lunch money.
If parents prefer to make payments or check balances via telephone, parents can use this special JPPSS toll-free number: 1-877-713-5436.
To create a student account, visit www.mealpayplus.com Follow the on-screen directions and register your student using his or her student Person ID number. For more information, call Child Nutrition at 349-7694.
